This video is a bit misleading but will at least let you see some of the challenges created by lag, if your curious go to the following: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/...Networking http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/...mpensation Lag compensation is on by default in TF2

Well that sucks, I konw Ive given people a bloody head with the sniper, and they didnt die but I didnt think it was this bad. Maybe it isnt the unusual, Ive never seen another games hitboxes shown like that (except fighters where I study hit boxes RELIGIOUSLY).

This is quite typical for a source game... it's mostly to counteract lag and it works for that. This is a hard problem to tackle.
Signature temporarily out of order until I get off my lazy ass to fix it. |

Did the connection issue get fixed? I know there was an update, but all I heard was that it fixed the intel falling through the floor (happens in 2fort all the time).

knowing all source games ahave this problem, I'm not even a bit surprised, for the number of times I died behind a wall as a scout and having a backstab not work as a spy. I this last concern, this is why a pyro owns so much now with the backburner, because it barely relies on it.

So do we have the lag compensation on or off on our servers?

this video is slightly misleading as he is playing in a lag free enviroment and the commands are meant for a typical server play.
http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/...Networking this may explain a little better. |

It seems that lag compensation is already on by default, so this video seems to be at least presented in such a way to create controversy. But if you want to make sure type "cl_lagcompensation 1" in your console. |

the hitboxes are a bit fucked, cause I have headshotted people, and there is blood on the model, but it did not even hurt them o.o
