Idlers shouldn't get anything, but Valve is doing a tremendous job of dealing with this in the worst way possible.  HEY HALF THE ACTIVE COMMUNITY, WANNA NOT HAVE ANY ITEMS INCLUDING SOME OF YOUR LEGIT ONES YEAAAAAAA LETS NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX OUR STUPID SYSTEM LIKE GET TRADING GOING OR RETHINK THIS WHOLE IDEA

Admittedly the increased drop rate of hats is noticeable, played for 4 hours and saw 3 hats, 2 were back to back but it still doesn't distract from the simple fact that if you're not getting a hat for a class you want a damn hat for what's the point.

I agree the whole halo thing really is a huge slap in the face to anyone who even used the idler for a few minutes. Just simply taking away all the items found through the idler would be enough. That being said, I'm still wearing the halo for the reason it's my only hat.

That being said, when the trading system comes out, I'd be happy to trade it to anyone who wants a crappy lil halo for some reason.

Actually, I'm just thinking it'd be better if Valve were to remove the halos. I mean, it has the tf2 community fighting a civil war.

Looking at it, I can't help but laugh at the whole situation. You really can't be neutral here. You either have a halo or don't. Either way, you're gunna be discriminated against by the other half... all of this is over a simple crappy looking cosmetic item that doesn't do anything but give away cloaked spies locations.

Really. The halo idea was probably good on paper, but it really turned into a shitstorm. Either that, or I've just been lurking around the steam forums too much. Those guys are just fun to watch bicker amongst themselves.

Oh, I can see the halo fine, and apparently so can a good few other people... there's a glitch that makes the halo visible when a spy's cloaked.

Heres how I look at it, and if you all take my perspective the giant rage boners will go away.
Obtain unlocks through the normal method of doing the achievement milestones, the only ones that I actually had to grind were the medic ones.
Then, you go on playing the game like you normally would, enjoying it.
Then one day you get a hat randomly. You're all like, OMG, that's cool.
Problem solved.

Saying this system is broke because you don't get what you want is making you look like children like saying that WoW is broke (I know that WoW really is broke, but not for the sake of this argument) because you did the Super Duper Raid with your 8 billion person guild 200 thousand times and didn't get your giant dildo shield.
