Kefka doesn't make up for the lack of characters like Vincent (needs redemption from Dirge of Cerberus), Freya, Auron, Balthier, Edge, and half the cast of FF VI.  Using only the main character and villain from every FF game is weaksauce, when no one cares about a lot of those characters.  Also Porom and Palom would have made awesome Ice Climbers.

Bump 'cause hacked PSP = Dissedia.

It's all right, battle system's pretty solid and still manages to incorporate levels and armor and summons and other crap you probably shouldn't have in a fighting game. Oh, also grinding levels. Wooo. Theoretically a level 1 could kill a level 99, the level 99 would just have to suffer a stroke or something.

Story mode's pretty eh, you move a character around on a checker board type thing, fighting random people until you eventually fight your character's counterpart. (Cloud to Sephiroth, etc.) Really only serves to unlock items / Shantotto and that guy from FFXII that I don't care about.

imo, just like every other PSP game out there it won't make you go out and buy a PSP, but if you already have one go for it. Especially if your one of 6 people who own a PSP and know a guy who also owns a PSP. Versus really makes this worth the purchase. Well, when it comes out.

Just started caring about this after watching the latest trailer (it suits my mood perfectly, I've been on a fighter and FF binge) but I really wish they had put in Chrono and Magus as secret unlockables. I'm buying it anyway to play as Kefka ... and Sephiroth... THE SHAME D:  but having those too would have been the ultimate fan service (especially since Square has basically confirmed their not gonna touch that IP again anytime soon )

Played this game in japanese a while ago, deleted from my brother's psp in 3 hours.

The combat style is annoying, there are some really cheap characters that will prevent you from using others and while the music and graphics are awesome, the game still falls where Crisis Core fell, awful gameplay makes a good game unplayable

crisis core had plenty good gameplay, and I like it a hell of a lot more than the original FF7.
