Just sitting on a desktop with something like say Folding running on a single core, the CPU/GPU both get up to ~85C (185F for us Americans). I have to prop the damn thing up on books, that usually manages to drop the temps 20-25C. On my parents old PC, the fan blew out in the PSU, and I didnt know that when I was taking it out to do some maintenance, and I got a second degree burn on my finger  Sig by Joel |

There is no need for water cooling unless you are trying to break benchmark world records. Most high end air cooling will actually outperform most midrange water cooling system. Phase Change cooling is a whole different animal though, however the cost is much greater.

If you want to overclock your system, watercooling is better solution because it won't make so much noise like the huge fans spinning 10 000RPM |

Silent PC's ftw... Signature temporarily out of order until I get off my lazy ass to fix it. |

Fuck watercooling.
I'd be freezing in my room if my computer wasn't heating out so much. [move][glow=black,2,300] Vote Benito 2012  [/glow]                             ï@.[/move] |

I thought about it for a while, and decided it was too expensive to warrant a purchase.
I did, however, look for a budget pump and CPU block and wanted to attempt to make a "bong" cooler. |
