computer blue screened while playing tf2. when it reset, it stayed at a black screen after the bios splash screen. when i reset it again it would not move past the bios splash screen.Â
anyone have an idea? (10-06-2011, 04:24 AM)Vandamguy link Wrote:just ignore everything Geoff posts its always trolling or ignorant drivel |

Take out the TF2 cartridge and blow on it.
You might also need to hit your computer a little before you press the power button again. |

Use your OS disk, go into recovery console.
Check hard disk consistency. If that fails, try an OS repair. |

You may have to hammer F12 to get into the boot menu and pick 'boot from cd'.

sure you didn't have something plugged in like a flash drive that it was trying to boot from?

Now that I think of it, this happened to me when I built my computer... minus the whole playing TF2 and bluescreen thing.
The problem was that I had forgotten to set one of my disk drives to "slave" and so it didn't know what to boot from. So, in my highly professional opinion, I say that your problem is hardware related. Possibly due to mice nesting in the computer case and chewing on some of the wires. |

Have you tried unplugging the power cord and letting it sit, then plugging it back in? I had a similar issue and that fixed it.

does it not power up at all? is the motherboard being powered, if you open the case there should be an LED showing that power is flowing.
I had a power supply refuse to boot a system after it's fan stopped working. Checking if fans are working and it's not a heat issue is a good step, providing power is going through at all. You can also return bios to default by clearing the cmos, but i would let the experts weight in first. |

otherwise do the first thing you should do when you can't get a computer to boot: unplug everything that isn't essential to power the computer and see what happens.
if post is a success with only the Mobo (keep the CPU in, unplug the ram for now) and PSU in; plug more shit in.
