cp_gravelpit - neutral
ctf_mach4 - definitely on rotation
cp_science2 - neutral
ctf_chaos - eh, I'd rather play it than 2fort
cp_castle3 - no
ctf_well2 - neutral
cp_labor - neutral
tc_hydro - maybe
cp_warpath2 - definitely on rotation
ctf_impact2 - neutral
cp_dustbowl - definitely on rotation
ctf_turbine_v3 - meh

As for other maps...I wouldn't mind badlands, but...why no cp_well? I like it Sad

Is anyone familiar with snofort?  It's CTF with snow and two cabins and a tunnel... and trees...

I had fun on it, but I've never seen it around here.  If I find it and post a link, could we trial it?

sounds like a map from another game, was it UT?
[/quote]

I don't know, sorry.  I didn't play one like it when I was playing UT.

As long as there's no bessjump in rotation, I'm perfectly happy lol

Mach4 > 2fort

I've had terrible experiences on 2fort.

How about swapping badlands for castle3?

I liked Badlands. Yes, it was usually a steamroll map, but I feel like most people just never got enough of a chance to actually play it and learn how it should be played. Honestly, servers took it off their rotations so fast I'm not even sure it was on rotation when I really started getting into this server. I bet it would work decently as a pick-up type map. If certain people are assigned a specific job, it usually prevents steamrolling, which seems to only happen because there was no defense.

And for all the crap it gets, I enjoyed granary. It always was a steamroll though, so I wouldn't really elect to put it on the server. If people get steamrolled enough, they're bound to leave. I haven't played enough of castle to say one way or the other about it. I think I've only played it twice.

I also think everyone should try cp_best_in_class at least once in their lives. It's a very special, albeit broken map.

I think Badlands in place of Castle is a good idea.

Not a fan of Castle either.

I used to play Snowfort back in my DoD days, where it was pretty popular.  Not sure how nice it'd be in TF2 (as a rotation map), being so wide open and such.  Limits the effectiveness of some classes.

Badlands isn't horrible, its not as bad of a steamroll as granary, but I absolutely hate the design of the second cap thats on the rock spire and the final cap goes WAY too fast. If enough people ask for it I'll toss it in.

2fort....been playing that since TFC 1.0, its been around since Quake II TF. Just been playing it so freaking long, I dont think people will miss it. People can always rtv to it if they want to play it, and Im sure people will use it often for seeding purposes.

It must be down to my being a relative newcomer, I guess. Never had the chance to get bored of 2fort as TF2 is my first experience with it and similarly, never played the original Badlands, so nothing with which to compare it. I agree Badlands is a bit shit when a team steamrolls through but if defences actually get set up on last in time it can lead to some pretty epic battles, in my experience.

As for your first point, I always respect your opinion but I just feel that the sheer amount of testing and manpower that go into the Valve maps just shows through really obviously most of the time and lacks somewhat from the vast majority of customs available.

I wouldn't mind giving Badlands another try. It might get better with time..........but I doubt it.

I've only played Castle and ctf_well a couple of times, but I wasn't impressed with how either played.

We're not putting the valve ctf_well on rotation, we're putting ctf_well2, which is a altered port of the original well from TF/TFC. IMO its a much better map than the ctf_well that valve put out, which was one of the laziest maps Ive ever seen in my entire life. I think the general consensus is to give Badlands another try.

If no one has any objections, Im going to put this on for an updated rotation tomorrow at TFT.

cp_gravelpit
ctf_mach4
cp_science2
ctf_chaos
cp_badlands
ctf_well2
cp_labor
tc_hydro
cp_warpath2
ctf_impact2
cp_dustbowl
ctf_turbine_v3

Only change is removing Castle3 for Badlands, Im also open to any shuffling people might want to see in this rotation. I wanted to try to keep it so any two gametypes are not back to back, and I didn't want to see any stock maps back to back.

I don't really either, but mostly because I can never really find a class that I can do well as on Turbine. :-\
