Being deployed to the outer hip area of the world (let's face it, Iraq/Kuwait is truly the ass crack of Earth, Afghanistan has to be further outboard), I've discovered there is but one Soft Drink Company Worth a Damn.  And the SDCWAD is Dr. Pepper.  They're the only ones who ship shit here, as opposed to getting crappy local Coke and Pepsi canned in Kabul and Dubai, with weird sizes, and shitty little pull tab openings.

Awesome story, they actually serve this here where I'm at in Wisconsin for the weekend. It's good.

Beer is for babies, is more like it.  It's all piss.  Real men drink actual booze.  Soda helps with that too ;D Drink a vault soda with Captain Morgan and the aftertaste is cream soda

Usually doing the Dew or A&W Rootbeer for the most part.

Come to ACen next year and get educated in good beer.

Everyone raves about New Glarus beers and while they are good, I also recommend trying other WI beers such as ones by Capitol Brewery.
The Supper Club and Island Wheat beers are well-liked by most.


And as for soda, I can't say I enjoyed Sprecher's root beer, but I really liked this:

I don't like Cheerwine. Weird taste. Too syrupy. Surrounded by it every day. I have yet to find any local sodas in Charlotte, not to mention a bunch of other food items you'd expect in a city.
