So, hey, guess what. There's a playable build available (it's pre-alpha, so don't be disappointed if it doesn't look pretty because it probably won't yet).
https://wiki.unrealengine.com/Version_Notes <-- Notes https://launcher-service-prod06.ol.epicg...taller.msi <-- Launcher (64 bit ONLY) If you want to download on your own (gotta be registered): https://forums.unrealtournament.com/show...able-Build I'll be honest, it's coming along quite nicely. The CTF mode is in there and seems to work pretty well.

Well, now Unreal Engine 4 is outright free including the source code... that's really big news.

[/quote] According to that article (I'm assuming you can't reach it due to being at work). Those who were recently subscribed are getting a pro-rated refund, and everyone who has ever subscribed (even if they cancelled) get a $30 marketplace credit. Basically those months that someone was subscribed I guess were considered development support donations, or something along those lines. Honestly it doesn't bother me, the UE4 engine is incredible and based on what I've seen of Unity 5 vs. Unreal 4... this stuff is great news (I'm out a total of like $60 myself, but that's about the same as buying a game anyway, now I can make as many as I want for free from here on out). |
